Phil George, a ’76 CSU Chico Grad, has worked in
construction since graduation, been a Civil Engineer since
1980, and, been licensed in California, Oregon and Washington.
Phil, Senior Engineer with Stimpel-Wiebelhaus Associates,
Inc since 1981, has bid and managed construction projects,
designed falsework (up to 120 feet high), shoring, controlled
blasting, bridges, aggregate plants, quarries and obtained
permits from multiple State and Federal Agencies including
Site Safety, Health & Decon Plans for EPA Superfund
Sites. Projects include dams, bridges, freeways, forest
roads, breakwaters, river and harbor work, powerplants,
etc.
Phil is also President of WBA Engineering Services, Inc.
in Redding, CA who provides a wide range of Civil Engineering
and Surveying services for both public and private owners.
Before working at Stimpel-Wiebelhaus, Phil was with MCM
Construction as an Estimator and Designer of bridge falsework
and shoring for various projects in California including
a $12 million freeway project on Highway 41 in Fresno.
Phil worked for George Reed, Inc. as Project Engineer on
the MGM Grand Hotel/Casino in Reno, Nevada and Estimator/PM
on jobs in the Mother Lode of CA as well as being involved
with asphalt, concrete and gravel production.
He has witnessed first-hand the inefficiencies and lose-lose
results (regardless of who “wins”) when contracting
parties turn to attorneys, arbitrators and judges or Federal
Courts for resolution.
